‘Sports for Change’ , a Programme for 16 Days of Gender Activism.

The Kenya Female Advisory Organization KEFEADO today paid a courtesy call to Kisumu County Minister for Sports Achie Alai where she presented them with balls to support ‘sports for change’ , a programme for 16 days gender activism.

Speaking at the meeting, KEFEADO Executive Director and Programs Co-ordinator Easter Oketch cited that the initiative intends to engage with adolescent girls and young women (Age 10-24) in and out of school through sustained approaches which ensures their voice and power to self-determination.

The Minister on her part said that the Department of Sports will chip in to support the initiative given that the it shall utilize a social approach with communities to ensure ownership and holistic engagement and in addition to the fact that it supports the disabled persons.
